The people of the Renaissance were fascinated with the Classical Age of ancient Greece and Rome. Let us venture together to experience an Italian Renaissance imagining of an Ancient Roman Feast. It will include familiar Renaissance foods from the Italian Peninsula and dishes from Ancient Roman Cookery.

Below the Salt

Those seeking a feast with foods and proportions typical to a Society feast can purchase a Below the Salt ticket. The Below the Salt board will likely include:

  • Bread, Oil, and Olives
    Salad of Rustic Greens
    Beats and Leeks in the Antique Manner
  • Escia Omentata – Roman Sausages
    A Dish of Lentils
    Carrots is Cumin Sauce
  • Good and Perfect Hens with Sumac
    Pasta with Herb Sauce
    Braised Vegetable
  • Roast Pork with Mustard
    Fresh Vegetable
    A Dish of Eggs Sauced in the Roman Manner
  • Sweets to conclude

Above the Salt

Those more adventurous can opt for an “Above the Salt” ticket and experience a meal with a wider selection of delicacies.  It will include all of the dishes in the “Below the Salt” Board, plus as many dishes again, for a lush variety of foods to sample. These will including seafood, subtleties, dainties, and other surprises.
